Scanning

Another service I provide is scanning-by-hand original prints, negatives, and slides. Photographs or negatives may be either color or black-n-white mediums.

I use professional scanning equipment capable of producing a resolution up to 6400 dpi. A high resolution creates the needed digital image files containing sufficient picture data for restorative editing if requested and printing “larger than original” size photographs. Scanning with such a high resolution produces extremely large image files. The actual dpi used will depend upon how you plan to use the image (i.e., print same size as original or enlarge, social media publishing, etc.). The pricing below does not include any color/tonal corrections or repairing of damaged images. If you want restoration work, please visit the service section titled Restoration Services.

Pricing – $15 plus:

• $0.50 per negative frame for 35mm Color or B&W Negatives
• $0.50 per slide for 35mm color slides
• $0.75 each for smaller than 35mm or larger film sizes up to 4×5 inch medium

Scanned images are provided to you on a CD or DVD.
