I first became fascinated with taking pictures when I was eight years old. My first camera was a Kodak Instamatic using a cube flash. At 14, I got my first 35mm SLR and experimented with a variety of cameras, lenses, and filters including taking photos through microscopes and telescopes. Yet, my nerdy professional life began engineering ground support equipment for aircraft. As a self-starter, I later taught myself all facets of Information Technology including software programming, database designs, and hardware engineering and manufacturing. When photography went digital, it was inevitable for my professional life to merge with my passion for creating stunning images.

I am an independent photographer based in Seattle, WA, who loves traveling photographing nature, wildlife, and landscapes. I am also experienced in photographing products, food, and homes. Most of my film experience came using a Canon A-1 I still use occasionally. Today, I primarily use Canon DSLR equipment.

I always enjoy taking on new challenges and for me there is no greater challenge than capturing those spontaneous inimitable moments in an individual’s life that reflects that person’s true character. I do not maintain a “portrait studio” because their world becomes my studio.
